Lumi Memora
A line of instant photographs drying in the last of the afternoon sun.
Halde develops instant film by post. The spot shows what people send back: summers pegged to a line in a quiet room, and one picture slipping loose.
Halde develops instant film that people post in, so the lab sees thousands of summers belonging to people it has never met.
A line in a quiet room
We pegged prints along a string by a window and let the afternoon sun do the rest. Nobody speaks; the pictures carry it.
Prints | Where they sit | What they show |
|---|---|---|
Most | Pegged to the line | Beaches, birthdays, dogs |
A few | Stacked on the sill | Still developing |
One | Falling to the floor | The shot nobody planned |
The one that slips
The spot ends on a single print sliding off its peg. It took nineteen tries to make it land face up.
